B00000000!

Halloween is right around the corner, and I have a few thoughts about pet safety.

Most importantly, if you have a black cat, ABSOLUTELY keep him or her inside.  Distressingly, the incidence of sadistic and ritualistic torture or killing of black cats sky rockets during this holiday.  Some  of this is due to holiday cult activity, some of it due to drunken party behavior.

If you have dogs, think about their repeated reaction to monsters ringing the door bell.  Many dogs are already uncomfortable and reactive at doors already.  It can be a much happier evening if your pooch is off in the bedroom or basement settled in with a nice stuffed Kong toy or bone chew to keep him or her happy.

And you humans out there – be safe and have fun!
